Volunteer at the races!

Race day volunteers make our events a success and volunteering is both fun and rewarding. The EXPECTATION is that every parent/guardian will volunteer for the League at least ONCE per student per season. We need over 180 volunteers at each race to provide an awesome experience to all the student athletes and we can’t do it without YOU! Click on the links below to signup for each race.

Volunteer positions are available both the day before the race for set up as well as race day.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Most volunteering shifts are 2-3 hours and many are next to the race course so you will be able to see the race. There are some positions with extra perks due to the length and/or demand of the position. These are:

  • Stationary course marshal

    • Stationary course marshals are some of the most important people during race day because they help monitor the course and are crucial in communicating with our medical staff about injured riders. Stationary marshal positions are half-day positions in which the marshal travels out to a designated spot on course and watches the race from there. We provide lunches, water, and snacks for those doing a full day (2 consecutive shifts). We also have small chairs that marshals can take out, but we suggest bringing more water and food for being out on course for a long time.

    • Because it is useful to have experienced stationary course marshals (but not necessary), we are offering perks to individuals who volunteer as course marshals multiple times.

      • Stationary course marshals who complete 3 shifts during the season will receive a $50 gift certificate to the merchandise tent or a custom Hyperthreads course marshal tech tee.

      • Stationary course marshals who complete 5 shifts during the season will receive a $50 gift certificate to the merchandise tent and a custom Hyperthreads course marshal tech tee.

      • Note: these perks do not apply to Roving Course Marshal positions.

  • Half day and all day parking positions

    • As everyone who has attended a race knows, lots of people arrive at the venue at the same time. Without our amazing parking staff and volunteers, the parking situation would be extremely hectic. There are short volunteer parking shifts before the race and during the jr devo races. There are also long half-day and full-day parking positions. The half-day and full-day positions are 5 to 8 hours and are very important for the race going smoothly.

    • Because of the length and importance of the positions, we have paid parking positions that pay $15/hour based on your check in and check out times. These positions can only be filled by people 16 years of age or older.

TEAM VOLUNTEERS

Our teams need your help to make sure their rides have the best experiences. This includes everything from providing snacks to riding with the team. Our parents and fellow riders make some of the best volunteers.

Check out our teams page to find a team in your area and contact the head coach of the team to get involved.
