In fulfillment of the Utah League vision and 5 Core Principles (Strong Body, Strong Mind, Strong Character, Inclusivity, Equality), we created Student Leaders Summits in 2016.  This program provides students a valuable opportunity to have fun while developing leadership skills which will last their whole lives, and serving their team.

Eric Porter

Eric Porter found his love for the sport exploring his local trails as a kid in Louisville, Kentucky. As a teenager, Eric got his first job at the local bike shop. From there on out it was 24/7 eat, sleep, breath the cycling life. Beginning with a brief dabble in XC racing, Eric’s career took off in a hurry. Eric graduated college in 2001, the same year he won both the National Downhill and Slalom Championships, launching his professional career. He has won mountain bike and freeride competitions all over the world. These days, Eric works closely with Diamondback Bikes helping design many of their latest models and constantly product testing on trails around the world. He now lives in Midway, Utah with his wife and two young sons Milo and Owen. He’s fully sold on raising his sons in the “mountain lifestyle”, introducing them to magical escape of Utah’s roots, rock, and dirt covered ridges in the summer months, fly-fishing in the shoulder seasons, and splitboarding those same ridge lines in the winter.  A mountain man of the highest order, Eric lives to share the stoke.
